My experience with mechanics has been super varied. Some are super shady, and a few are honest and straight up. That’s why when I find one in the latter category, I stick with them. Recently, my previous mechanic closed shop which led me to a few unpleasant experiences. It was through this that I stumbled upon South Gate. They were super honest and didn’t try to up sell me with any stuff I didn’t need. They’ve earned my trust and that’s why I’ll go back.

Highly Recommend! I heard about the quality and professionalism of Southgare Auto from a lady I met at Starbucks one day. Both of us had moved to the Reno about a year ago from Michigan. We traded names of places and she mentioned Southgate Auto. She was impressed with their honesty, quality of work and how she felt she could trust them not to take advantage of her as a female. Forward a few months - my car was making noises. I called Sothgate Auto - it was Brittany’s first day. She agreed to meet me at the shop a few days later before they opened and drop me off at work. They assessed my car and was able to complete the job the same day and it was very reasonable! David followed up to make sure I was satisfied. We have used Southgate Automotive for years. It is a family run business. They are very knowledgeable, informative and honest. They do a great job of communicating and their prices are reasonable. I would strongly recommend Dave and his crew to anyone who asks.
