We started Southgate Automotive in 1992 to serve the local community by providing excellent automotive repair services at reasonable prices. Since then, our business has grown, but our values and commitment remain the same. We’re still dedicated to building long-term relationships with our customers by prioritizing timely repairs, transparent communication, and fair prices.

Southgate Automotive is a local, family-run shop fueled by a lifelong passion for mechanics. Owned by father-son duo David and Cameron Taylor, the business has roots reaching back to 1963. David’s education began in his father’s home garage and was perfected under the mentorship of his father-in-law at Southgate Chevron. After serving as lead technician for years, David took the shop independent in 1995. Having grown up at the workbench alongside his father and grandfather, Cameron now continues that legacy, ensuring Southgate remains a cornerstone of the Reno community.

Meet The Owner - David and Cameron T.

David and Cameron Taylor, a father-son team with a deep-seated love for fixing cars. Our shop is proud to be a family owned business serving the Reno, NV area. David got into the auto repair business by way for his father-in-law, who owned Southgate Chevron since 1963, but even before then, he had watched his father building engines in the home garage and started working on his own cars in high school. Thus, the idea of continuing this dream started and thrives every day at Southgate Automotive!
